The Pedestal Box will grace any home with it's workmanship and beauty.  The size and shape will permit the storage of a wide range of jewelry. 

 The sides and top of the box are joined with dovetails. The top and doors are framed with mitered cherry.  The drawers are joined with petite dovetails and the pulls are unique to this box.  The top is beveled and the doors open and close with wood hinges.  Magnets hold the doors closed.  One side has four drawers; each with a velvet liner on the bottom.  The other side is open with pretty brass jewelry hooks and a brass carrousel for necklaces. Plastic pads are applied to the bottom to protect surfaces and to prevent unwanted movement.

 The body and trim on the box are cherry and there is a lacewood medallion on the top and in the two front doors. 
The face of the drawers is also lacewood.  As with all my boxes, all the wood is solid, I do not use veneers.

The finish is three coats of Danish oil, which is hand applied and then allowed to dry for at least a week.  Then three coats of carnauba wax are hand applied for a silken feel and appearance.
